About FilamentFeed
Independent 3D printing coverage for the whole maker community — from people unboxing their first printer to small shops and print-farm operators. We cover what to buy, how to get the most out of it, and the news that actually affects people who print.
Founded and published by John Folger, who built and ran a 3D-printer company. FilamentFeed is an independent publication and is not affiliated with any printer or materials manufacturer.
What we do
We watch the primary sources — manufacturer announcements, firmware and slicer release notes, materials datasheets, crowdfunding launches, and the filings of the public additive-manufacturing companies — and publish when something matters. Articles drop when news drops, not on a calendar.
Editorial approach
FilamentFeed's correspondents report from primary sources — a manufacturer's own newsroom and product pages, official firmware and slicer release notes, materials datasheets, and company filings — not rehashed forum threads. Each article is researched, written, and approved by a named correspondent before publication. Our newsroom uses technology tools to accelerate research and document review; all editorial decisions, factual verification, and final copy are the sole responsibility of the named author. We don't rewrite other outlets' coverage — we go to the source.

Independence & advertising
FilamentFeed is supported by advertising. Ads are clearly distinguishable from editorial, and editorial coverage is independent and not influenced by advertisers. We do not accept payment for favorable reviews.
Sources & permissions
We synthesize public information — manufacturer announcements, release notes, datasheets, filings, and reporting from established outlets — into original coverage. Quoted material is used under fair use with attribution. Images are public domain or used under Creative Commons licenses with photographer credits. See credits & permissions for the full list.
Not professional advice
Coverage on this site is plain-English information for general purposes only. Always verify specs, prices, and compatibility against the manufacturer, and follow the manufacturer's safety guidance — especially around resin handling, ventilation, and electrical work — before acting on anything you read here.
