Editorial Standards

FilamentFeed exists to cover 3D printing accurately, for makers and print-farm operators who act on what they read. This page sets out exactly how we report, source, and check what we publish — and how we use technology in the newsroom.

Sourcing

Every article is reported from primary and authoritative sources: manufacturer press releases and spec sheets, official firmware and slicer release notes, material datasheets, and company filings, supplemented by reporting from established 3D-printing and maker publications. We do not rewrite a single outlet's story. Each article cites its sources openly in a "Sources" section at the foot of the piece, and specs or claims that come directly from a manufacturer are identified as such.

Fact-checking

Before publication, every article is checked against a fixed list: specifications, pricing, release dates, and material properties are verified against the manufacturer's own listing wherever one exists. Where a figure or date is uncertain, we say so rather than guess. When new information supersedes old reporting — a price change, a firmware update, a recall — we update the article and note the change.

How we use AI — and why a human is always responsible

We are transparent about this: FilamentFeed's articles are drafted with the assistance of AI tooling, working from sources gathered and read for each story. That assistance is a writing and research aid, not an autopilot. Every article is produced through a draft → review → publish workflow, attributed to a named correspondent, and no piece goes live without human editorial review. We do not mass-publish unreviewed, unsourced content. Our goal is to use technology to report more clearly and cite more rigorously — not to cut corners on accuracy.

Our correspondents

Articles carry a byline from a named member of our desk, each with a defined beat and a published biography:

Corrections

Hardware and firmware change fast, and early reports can go stale. We aim to be clear about what's confirmed versus what a manufacturer has announced, and we correct mistakes promptly when they are brought to our attention. To report an error, email [email protected] with the article and the correction.

Independence

Editorial decisions are made independently of any advertising, sponsorship, or affiliate relationship on this site. Where an article contains affiliate links, that never determines which products we cover or how we describe them — a product's placement in a buyer's guide reflects our assessment of it, not a commission rate.

Accuracy is not a claim of authority

FilamentFeed is an independent publication and is not affiliated with any printer, filament, or software manufacturer. Coverage is for general information and education. For questions, corrections, or partnerships, reach us at [email protected].
